St. Mary’s Medical Center announced that Chief Nursing Officer Mary Jo “Joey” Bulfin was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Florida Center for Nursing (FCN). The appointment was made by Florida Governor Charlie Crist and recommended by Senator Jeff Atwater.

Bulfin has been with St. Mary’s for more than 25 years, having joined in 1980 as an RN in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Prior to being named Chief Nursing Officer in 2005, she served as Director of Nursing Operations, Nurse Manager of the NICU, as well as Nurse Legal Consultant and Nursing Care Coordinator.
